Beach Volleyball 101's very own Hank Groves with the game winning block in the 2007 Mexican
International Volleyball Tournament held in Rosarito, MEX, B.C.
Hugo Dooner & Hank Groves, both from San Diego, CA, took the final 25-21. It was their 6th match
of the day, and 10th overall. It was the 33rd Annual Tournament, but first to be held in Rosarito,
MEX. The tournament, affectionately known as "Estero," featured players from all over the US and
MEX. The format of the tournament is a "weighted draw," giving unrated players the opportunity
to be placed with rated players in a two-day pool play event. The top two teams in every
pool from FRI & SAT are then put into a single elimination tournament bracket played on
SUN. Over 600 players participated in the men's & women's Mexican International
Volleyball Tournament.
